Meal Prep Chef (2 open positions)
Location: Greater Charlotte Area; local travel required.
Job Type: 1099 Contractor
Hours: Sunday through Thursday, between 8am-5pm (30hrs+). Weekend event hours also generally available; these hours vary.
About Us: The Garden Party CLT is a culinary brand, known for its private chef services for meal prep, events, tasting menus and grazing tables. We specialize in catering to individuals and families with dietary restrictions, allergies, and healthy lifestyles.
Position Summary: The Garden Party CLT is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Meal Prep Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recipe testing and development, and professional kitchen experience. A passion for healthy cooking, an aptitude for ingredient replacement, and the ability to learn quickly on the job are essential. Additionally, the candidate must have experience working closely with clients and possess excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare nutritious, flavorful meals tailored to clients’ dietary needs and preferences.
Demonstrate working knowledge of ingredient replacement to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences (e.g., gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan).
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment at all times.
Shop for high-quality ingredients, ensuring freshness and nutritional value.
Communicate professionally with clients to understand their dietary requirements, preferences, and feedback.
Stay up-to-date on culinary trends and nutrition research to continuously improve menu offerings.
Adapt quickly to new kitchen equipment, techniques, and unique client needs.
Manage the inventory for kitchen supplies and ingredients in each client’s home.
Qualifications:
Certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent in past experience
Have a minimum of one year of kitchen and/or related experience.
Experience in recipe adaptation.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of ingredient modification for various dietary needs.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a tight-knit team.
Exhibit a high level of professionalism and client confidentiality.
Flexibility to accommodate varying client schedules and dietary requirements.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift heavy items (50 pounds), and stand for extended periods of time.
Willingness to undergo a background check.
Chefs are expected to have and maintain their own standard kitchen tools and uniform for all services.
